On the afternoon of 18 November, Mr. Jorge Mendes and his colleagues visited My Dinh National Stadium, worked with Mr. Calisto, the Chief Coach of Vietnam national team and the U23 national team, visited and worked with Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – General Secretary of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). On the following working days, Mr. Jorge and his colleagues will visit Ho Chi Minh City under the invitation of Mr. Le Hong Quan and Vice Chairman of VFF, Mr. Le Hoang Dung. In Ho Chi Minh City, the delegation will also visit Young Talent Training Center and Thanh Long Sport Center and watch the game between SHB Da Nang and Uganda on the afternoon of 21 November.

Mr. Jorge Mendes is very delighted to visit and work with Chairman Do Quang Hien. He is of the feeling that Vietnam is a beautiful and friendly country. This visit also helps Mr. Jorge and his colleagues to have a more practical view of the Vietnamese football and potentials of Vietnamese people. From that, the support or business cooperation such as introduction, invitation of famous stars to come to play in Vietnam as well as player transference and commercial cooperation will be more feasible.

Mr. Jorge wants to help  T&T Hanoi and SHB Da Nang to train Club Director, coaches, and both professional and amateur young players. He also wishes not only to develop T&T and SHB Da Nang teams but also to develop the whole Vietnamese football to reach the regional and world levels.  Chairman Do Quang Hien and Mr. Jorge will set up a football investment fund.

Chairman Do Quang Hien says: "We are very delighted when such a famous businessman and player broker who has the expertise in negotiations and transferene of most expensive players in the world such as  Cristiano Rinaldo, Deco, Nistelrooy... comes to Vietnam to discuss with us. This is a meaningfull event and plays an important role in deciding future plans of T&T Group and SHB Bank. We hope that through this cooperation, the images of the two clubs - T&T Hanoi and SHB Danang- in particular and the images of  T&T Group and SHB in general will have an opportunity to reach the European market“. Chairman Do Quang Hien and high level experts of  T&T Group and SHB Bank discussed and exchanged with Mr. Jorge Mendes and his colleagues on the cooperation and plans to be implemented in the future between the two parties.

Mr. Peter Kenyon (former Executive Director of Chealsea Club) says: “ Vietnam has the fastest football growth rate in Asia, especially the winning of AFF Suzuki CUP in 2008 was a momentum for Vietnamese football to proceed further in the Asian and world football industry. The winning of V- Leage 2009 championship and national club of SHB Da Nang Club and the consecutive upgrading of 03 levels in 03 years and winning high prizes in this football season of T&T Club... has shown the positions and levels of those clubs. I strongly believe that this working visit will open many business ideas, promises many good things and we hope to bring to Vietnam our experience accumulated from a developed football industry for hundreds of years now“.

This working visit also involves Mr. Gil Marin, Chairman of Atletico Madrid Club. Mr. Gil Mari has paid his visit to Asia since 14 November. The purpose of this visit is to find funding source for the new stadium - La Peineta – which will be brought into use in 2012 by Atletico Madrid, replacing the old stadium - Vicente Calderon.

Also under the framework of the visit, the delegation will come to Binh Duong City and watch two games: SHB Da Nang - Uganda and Brazil – Dong Tam Long An.

Issues of mutual interests and disccussed:

-          T&T and SHB discussed with Mr. Jorge Mendes on the issues of player transference, introduction of world famous stars to come to paly in Vietnam. T&T and SHB wished to play the role of advertising the images of world famous players and clubs in Vietnam, China, Singapore, Thailand and other Southest Asian countries.  

-          T&T and SHB discussed with Mr. Jorge Mendes on the training of Executive Directors for football clubs, training of professional and amateur young players, transference of young players of T&T Ha Noi and SHB Da Nang in particular and of Vietnam in general to European clubs to be trained and play.

-          T&T and SHB discussed with Mr. Jorge Mendes on the invitation of football stars to come to Vietnam to play with the purpose of calling for sponsporship and contribution to Vietnamese charity funds.  

-          T&T and SHB discussed with Mr. Jorge Mendes on the bringing of Vietnamese tourists to Europe, visiting the Formula I car racing teams, moon journeys, and bringing of European tourists to visit Vietnam’s beauty landscapes and study the country and people of Vietnam. 

-          T&T and discussed with Mr. Jorge Mendes on other business plans.

-          The two parties confirm the bilateral long-term cooperation and convert the discussion points into specific issues, which will soon bring good benefits to Vietnam and other Asian countries not only in terms of football but also in other business areas.
